 Science:
We will be doing a Science activity this Friday that we need some supplies for. If you could send 1 cup of one of the following, it would be appreciated.
• nuts
• dried fruit
• raisins

Math:
We have started subtraction to 12 this week. If you haven’t gotten or made flash cards yet- now would be a good time!

Food Drive:
We have begun our food drive for the months of November and December. This goes along with our character pillar of “Caring.” You may send non-perishable food for the food pantry or the animal shelter. We are trying to create a food pyramid with boxes full of food!

BOOK-IT:
November’s book reading goal is 10 books!

Feast:
Over the next two weeks we will be learning about the meaning of Thanksgiving. We will read and discuss many different books. On November 24th, we will prepare a feast in our classroom. This will take the place of our regular lunch. I am asking each child to bring $4.00 for the lunch and supplies. We will discuss what we think the pilgrims and Indians might have had at their first feast. From this, we will create a menu.

Conferences:

If possible, please come a few minutes early for your child’s conference to look at samples of their work.  I will do my best to stay on schedule for conferences, out of respect for everyone.  If we feel there is a need for an additional conference, then we will schedule one.

Book Order:

The attached book order is due this Friday, or at your conference time.  I will send the order in Friday afternoon, so I can get the books to you before Thanksgiving.  If you are ordering anything for Christmas presents, let me know and I will hold it back for you.

BOOK-IT:

I began recording books for the month of November today. The required amount for the month of November will be 10 books.
