About Joy Carter

Hi!  I’m Joy Carter, the Spanish 3 and 4 teacher at RHS.  This is my fourth year at Rockridge, and I love it!  My students last year were wonderful and fun, and I’m looking forward to meeting more awesome students this year and reuniting with my already-awesome Spanish 4 students!

I graduated from Westmer High School and from Western Illinois University, getting my bachelor’s degree in Spanish Education.  I taught one year in Massachusetts and five years in Chatham, Illinois.  However, I must say, I love Rockridge the best!

My family is at the center of my heart, though!  My husband, Shawn, is an Illinois State Trooper, and we have two adorable little girls.  (They are my full-time job!)  I love being able to stay at home with them most of the time, but then getting to escape to my other passion–teaching!
