Mr. Walker’s Band Site

There is a strong possibility that Rockridge will be hosting a playoff game on Saturday, Oct 29th at 2:00pm. If this is indeed the case, the band will be performing at the game. We will not know for sure probably until next week. As soon as I have more information, it will be posted on the site.

A reminder that tonight is our annual Parent Night with the RHS Marching Rockets. We will begin our performance in the stadium at 6:15. After we perform the show once, parents will be invited to join their students on the field to march the show a second time. We’ve always had a great time with this one in the past, and we hope to see you there tonight!

The Metamora parade competition step off time has been bumped up five minutes from 1:06 to 12:59. This is only a slight difference, but the schedule now goes as follows:

If anyone is going home with parents, Mr. Walker needs a note from you ahead of time. Make sure you bring a few dollars for lunch. There may be an alteration in the schedule from Metamora, but this is the schedule as it stands now.

Students participating in IMEA auditions this Saturday need to be at the school by 6:15am. The bus will depart at 6:30am.

We will be having our annual Parent Night on Thursday, October 6th at 6:00pm. Family friends and well wishers are invited to check out our finished product at this rehearsal. After performing for the crowd, you will be invited to march behind your student on the field during our second run through. This night is a great time and we hope to see you all there!

We will step off some time after ten. The nature of parades is often “hurry up and wait”. We should be finishing up the parade between 11 and 11:30. We will load up the equipment when we arrive at Rock Island High School. There will be a performance by the Western Illinois University Marching Leathernecks around noon. We will stay to watch it and then return home
1:00-1:30 Arrive home and unload.

4:00-Halftime performance

You will be dismissed after we return to the school after halftime. Make sure your uniform is hung properly. There will not be a meal for this game, so make sure you eat a good lunch before you show up.
