Romeo and Juliet
We will be performing our drama projects on Tuesday!
I would like to take the time to introduce myself. My name is Lindsay Harkins and I will be teaching English I. I just moved to the Rockridge area and I already feel at home. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Western Illinois University in 2005 and furthered my education at Aurora University, where I earned my Masters of Teaching in Secondary Education. I firmly believe that the development of language skills and creativity is vital to academic success. I hope that by the end of the year, the knowledge that we have learned and acquired will become a stepping stone towards a bright and successful future.
As a teacher, I want to give the students’ an opportunity to express themselves through their writing. One of the main goals for this year is to have the students become independent learners through critical thinking. Students will be assessed and graded on their development and participation in the areas of grammar, literary analysis, writing, group work, presentations, homework, tests and quizzes. My goal is to provide a positive learning environment which will enhance students’ intellectual growth and moral development.
I consider it a great privilege and responsibility to be teaching at Rockridge High School. Go Rockets!
