Grading Policy

Grades will be based on a total number of points for the quarter.  These points will come from the following five categories.

1. Homework  - (5 pts each) Homework will be assigned each day and be due the following class period unless otherwise noted.  Each assignment will be graded according to completion, effort, showing work, and using pencil.
2. Daily Work – (5 pts each day) Each day the students will be responsible for being prepared for class (2 pts) and completing a short problem at the beginning of class (3 pts).  This problem will be a review problem of the material covered or material to help prepare for upcoming tests.
3. Quizzes – (approx. 25-50 pts each) There will be one or two quizzes given for each chapter.  The quiz will be worth the number of problems included in the quiz.
4. Test- (100 pts each) There will be one chapter test at the end of each chapter we cover. 
5. Binder Checks- (approx 20 pts each).  At the end of each chapter, I will collect all the binders to check classroom notes.  Students are responsible for taking notes each day and will be rewarded at the end of each chapter with about 20 points.

Occasionally, we will have extra credit opportunities or classroom projects that will contribute to the total points possible for the final grade.

It is VERY important to turn in work completed and on time!!!  If you are absent, make sure to get your make-up work finished as soon as possible!!
